Faster than a speeding bullet... How Frankenstein and 'Superman' are alike

In Action Comics/DC comics 'Superman' it tells the tale of how an alien crash lands to this planet from a dying planet, sent by his parents to a habitable planet, to be cared for by its people. When aging Clark Kent noticed that he was faster, stronger, and overall more athletic than his teenage friends. But he always felt that he was different. In 'Frankenstein' when Dr. Frankestein created his creature he instantly shunned him, went to his bed to rest off the nightmare, as time progressed everyone in the community demonized the creature, he was an outsider. Pretty sure that Clark Kent felt like this, even when he was Superman in the city of Metropolis fighting evil and criminals, Clark Kent/Superman will never know what it is to be "normal", as Frankenstein's creature will never know. -Greg F. Frankenstein in Pop Culture

The spirit of the creature of Frankenstein can be felt the most around Halloween. This is the one day in our culture that we can dress up as anything we choose, and a lot of people take the opportunity to dress up as the Frankenstein monster. However there is one significant difference between the monster in the book and how he is portrayed on Halloween. The traditional monster is usually green, very ugly, and appears as clumsy. He also usually has bolts coming out of his neck, although anyone who has ever read the novel knows this is far from what the creature really was. In the book, Frankenstein is a creature abandoned by the only family he has and left to live alone. He is not green, but a normal color, and is anything but clumsy. Due to the popularity of the monster, some things got twisted from the book to make the Frankenstein monster to appear more frightening. This is just an example of what happens when legend takes control of story.

Frankenstein And TerminatOr__

Both Frankenstein and Terminator have a lot in common. The Terminator is basically a modern-day reiteration of the story Frankenstein. Both illustrate similar scientific, political, and religious themes. Both show the same flaws that mankind is capable of doing. Both Frankenstein and Terminator also show important messages and warnings about what may happen when mankind steps out of his bounds, and when knowledge and power becomes abused by mankind. In Frankenstein Victor creates a monster out of dead tissue, and in Terminator scientists have figured out a way to create robots that act on human supervision. Just like Victor creates a monster, in Terminator man creates a race of monsters that reflect human behaviors. Another similarity between Terminator and Frankenstein is the way that victor didn't think about the consequence's of his doings. And in Terminator the scientist also didn't consider the outcome of their actions. Both can be viewed as critiques of human boldness. Another similarity between these two works is the fact that both Victor and the scientists were so self-absorbed that they didn't once look outside the box and think of the oncoming destruction. In conclusion i have found that both Frankenstein and Terminator have a lot to do with each other and have a great deal of relation. ____ by: KAMINI JAIRAM

"Dead or alive, you're coming with me".

In the ever so famous movie RoboCop, you see the theme of Frankenstein being portrayed once again.

RoboCop is about a veteran police officer Alexander James Murphy, who was murdered on duty and then resurrected as an elite crime fighting exoskeleton none other than RoboCop.

RoboCop was basically a new person that only had these guidelines built in to his neural network. serve the public trust, protect the innocent and uphold the law. With these 3 things in mind he went on to fight crime solo with no help, and this stirred cops the wrong way who began to revolt and felt they were going to be replaced.

In the bigger scheme of things RoboCop was designed in reality to be used for war as well, and the people of OCP who created the cyborg just feared of glitches in the machine, that would put their motives to a wreck.

In the end RoboCop, remembers who he is, and of course everything is happily ever after.

If you compare this movie to Frankenstein, you can see that RoboCop who wasn't necessarily guided and only had basic knowledge programmed was fighting crime and working to do good, just as i believe the monster to be the same way, he was abandoned and still had good in him which resides in all Humans. OCP designed RoboCop to fight crime but had their selfish motives as well, just as Dr. Frankenstein, he was obsessed with creating life, and resurrection, not for the purpose of the being but for his own selfish reasons, the only difference is he was not able to man up when the creature has risen. Both stories show the greed and selfishness of humanity, and the disregard to the creation of something DIFFERENT. -Imtiaz Choudhury

Frankenstein vs. Racism

When reading the full novel of "Frankenstein", it is hard to ignore the theme of racism that is prevalent in the book, just in a different context. Victor creates the monster and he is born just that, a monster. When the monster runs away, he has no place in the world to go. Despite his calm nature and intelligence, everyone else sees him as a monster than as a normal person. While people are quick to chase the monster away, different races and cultures went through something very similar in the 60's. No one takes the time to talk to the monster and see what he is really about and try to understand him. Instead of doing this, people shoo him away for his looks and tall stature. If that's not a form of racism, I don't know what is.

"I am your father...." How Star Wars relates to Frankenstein

In the trilogies of George Lucas's Star Wars, the main protagonists are Anakin Skywalker and Luke Skywalker. Two completely different but also similar personalities; intertwined by fate. When Anakin Skywalker was seduced by the darkside of the force he was going against his former mentor, Obi-Wan Kenobi. When he fell in the pit of lava and was being "built" again and rose from a human, to this monstrous black robotic looking creature, it reminded me of when Frankenstein's monster rose. The growth of innocence turning into darkness also related to how Victor Frankenstein once used his excuse to tamper with creating life. At first he was "on a quest to free humans from disease, that they would only die a violent death". He was an innocent explorer tampering with "the dark side of the force". This is a direct metaphor to how Anakin was seduced to the dark side, shaded by the innocence of saving his wife and restoring the republic.

clOning & Frankenstein__

The book Frankenstein and cloning have a lot in common, certain questions such as What life really is and the meaning of it comes up. The idea of being your own creator is being brought up on both topics. Many people do not agree with cloning, the similar topic of the novel Frankenstein. Cloning isn't original, it isn't the way that life should come about. Just like the way that doctor Frankensteins creation wasn't original. Both of these topics cause controversy that makes us humans question life itself and the worth of human-kind. Just like Dr. Frankenstein tried to replicate humans is the same idea that cloning brings about. Creating your own human, that has the ability to use its mind, has memories and even its own human body is also illustrated in Frankenstein. I believe it isn't right to clone humans, but then again there are humans that are similar too Dr. Frankenstein and have a thirst for knowledge. I believe as humans we are always striving to be on top, but we gotta remember, there are certain things that should be left in the hands of god. Cloning is definitely one of those things... __ by: KAMINI JAIRAM__
