"Dead or alive, you're coming with me".

In the ever so famous movie RoboCop, you see the theme of Frankenstein being portrayed once again.

RoboCop is about a veteran police officer Alexander James Murphy, who was murdered on duty and then resurrected as an elite crime fighting exoskeleton none other than RoboCop.

RoboCop was basically a new person that only had these guidelines built in to his neural network. serve the public trust, protect the innocent and uphold the law. With these 3 things in mind he went on to fight crime solo with no help, and this stirred cops the wrong way who began to revolt and felt they were going to be replaced.

In the bigger scheme of things RoboCop was designed in reality to be used for war as well, and the people of OCP who created the cyborg just feared of glitches in the machine, that would put their motives to a wreck.

In the end RoboCop, remembers who he is, and of course everything is happily ever after.

If you compare this movie to Frankenstein, you can see that RoboCop who wasn't necessarily guided and only had basic knowledge programmed was fighting crime and working to do good, just as i believe the monster to be the same way, he was abandoned and still had good in him which resides in all Humans. OCP designed RoboCop to fight crime but had their selfish motives as well, just as Dr. Frankenstein, he was obsessed with creating life, and resurrection, not for the purpose of the being but for his own selfish reasons, the only difference is he was not able to man up when the creature has risen. Both stories show the greed and selfishness of humanity, and the disregard to the creation of something DIFFERENT. -Imtiaz Choudhury
